Promoting an environment that fosters innovative thinking gives people the confidence to think outside the box, share ideas with each other and again, grow together as a team.
Show Them Why
People often follow thought patterns that include something called ‘Perceived Relevance’. Your team members need to know & understand that what they’re doing will help them to be the best that they can in their respective roles.
Identify & Reward
Identify when your team members are doing something right and reward them for it! It’s said that ‘That which is praised, gets repeated’.
Be true to yourself. Create your own style and play to your own strengths. People will respect you more for being authentic. Leading by example is a term thrown around in managerial strategy but it’s true! Being yourself and playing to your own strengths and style will have a positive influence on your team and will encourage them to do the same.
Show You Care!
It won’t matter to your team how much you know if you don’t care about them. Equally, your team members will go the extra mile for you if they know how much you care about their ideas and well being.
